SMI Division at Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk. found the fact that the steam from the 4 boilers they operate, is not running as they have planned. In 2013, the difference in steam supply from the 2013 plan, cost was higher than planned. Improvements need to be made to maximize coal boiler load capacity and it will impact to reduction of steam cost.
PQM facilitates the SMI members, to do the Problem Solving which includes areas of the Quality Control Cycle and Focused Improvement methods to find the root of the problems and make an improvement plan for this situation. The method consists, of the Root Cause Analysis, which analyzes all aspects of the process, including man, machine, material, and method. By using these techniques the team can improve all the processes that lead to cost savings up to $ 200,000 / per year
To return the Coal Boiler Capacity Load from 18 T/h to its original capacity of 20 T/h starting March 2014.
